O’Shea Welcomes Over €304,000 in Community Funding for Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District

Cork North West Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea has warmly welcomed the allocation of over €304,000 in community funding to a wide range of groups across the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District in Cork County.

The funding will support numerous local initiatives, including the upgrading of community amenities, the delivery of important capital projects, and the continued enhancement of towns and villages through Tidy Towns efforts.

Deputy O’Shea said “I am delighted to see this significant level of investment being directed into communities across the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District. These funds will make a real and tangible difference, supporting the voluntary groups and committees who work tirelessly to improve their local areas.”

Deputy O’Shea added “From upgrading vital community facilities to enhancing public spaces and supporting Tidy Towns initiatives, this funding reflects the strong community spirit that exists throughout North Cork. It is a recognition of the dedication and commitment shown by local volunteers who give so generously of their time.”

Deputy O’Shea also paid tribute to the work of local Fine Gael councillors who have supported community groups in bringing forward strong applications. “I want to acknowledge the work of Councillors Aileen Browne, Liam Madden, Tony O’Shea and Trish Murphy. Their ongoing engagement with community groups has been instrumental in ensuring that projects are developed and brought forward to a high standard.”

He added “This funding highlights the importance of partnership between local representatives, community organisations and Cork County Council. By working together, we can ensure that our towns and villages continue to thrive and remain attractive places to live, work, and visit.”

Concluding, Deputy O’Shea encouraged all successful groups to continue their excellent work. “I want to sincerely congratulate all the groups who have secured funding. Your efforts are at the heart of our communities, and this investment will help you build on the great progress already made.”
