Plans for the development of two new social houses social houses in Kilbrin village have been welcomed by Cork North West Fine Gael General Election candidate Councillor John Paul O’Shea.
At the November meeting of Cork County Council’s North Division, Cllr. O’Shea requested the Housing Directorate to outline its plan to develop social housing on the Council lands in Kilbrin village.
Council officials responded by confirming that plans for the development of two social houses on council lands are currently being processed by Cork county Council.
Stage 1 funding application will be made to the Department of Planning, Housing & Local Government in December, for approval to proceed with a development on this site.
It is then expected that the Part 8 public consultation process for the development will be launched in the first quarter of 2020.
Welcoming the news, Cllr. O’Shea said: “It’s positive news that the Council is moving on plans to development two new houses in the existing Council estate in Kilbrin. There were two unused serviced sites since the last round of development, so this is good news for two new families. I look forward to these developments moving to the planning stage, hopefully early in the New Year.”
