Rural Community Projects in Cork North-West to Receive CLÁR Funding
€261,529 announced for community and sports facilities in Cork North West
 
 
Community and sports clubs in Cork North-West are set to receive substantial backing under the CLÁR Programme, Cork North-West Fine Gael General Election Candidate Cllr. John Paul O’Shea has said.
 
Cllr. O’Shea said: “This is excellent news Cork North-West and a real endorsement of the great work being done by local groups here.
 
“The projects receiving this funding will provide long-lasting benefits, improving key amenities and ensuring that communities across Cork North-West continue to flourish. The projects are;
-Millstreet Community Council, Refurbishment of Public Toilets in Millstreet, €50,000
-Mullach na Réidh Teo, Ionad Áise, Réidh na nDóirí, Improvements to the Ionad Áise Community Building’s rear yard, €44,167
-Liscarroll Chruchtown Gaels GAA Club, Replacing fencing at the GAA grounds, €50,000
-Boeing Community Group Millstreet, Upgrading facilities at the Boeing Amenity on the banks of the Blackwater River, €40,499
-Kilcorney Angling & Leisure Group, Renovate scenic river and woodland walk paths, €28, 449
-Dromtariffe GAA, Form a tiered viewing area along the side of the main pitch including wheelchair access, €48,414
 
Cllr. O’Shea added “from enhancing community spaces to upgrading local infrastructure, this funding will help create better environments for people to come together, whether it’s for sports, cultural events, or simply to enjoy time in shared spaces.
 
“The social and economic impact of this kind of funding on Cork North-West cannot be understated.
 
“Our local centres, clubs, and public spaces are essential hubs of activity, and this investment will help to breathe new life into them, ensuring they remain vibrant and accessible for all.
 
“It’s about providing facilities that are fit for the future and reflect the needs of the people who live and work in Cork North-West.
 
“This funding also reflects the dedication of our local groups and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to push these projects forward.
 
“Their passion for making Cork North-West the best it can be has been central to today’s success.
 
“The commitment within Fine Gael to supporting communities like those in Cork North-West has been instrumental in making these projects a reality, and ensure that Cork North-West remains a great place to live, work, and visit.” Cllr. O’Shea concluded.
