It was with great sadness I heard of the passing of Frank Crowley this morning.
Frank was a gentleman to the core and has left a lasting legacy in the town of Kanturk and the wider Cork North West constituency.
Frank had a tremendous career for 30 years at Cork County Council being first elected in 1974 and continuing right up until 2004. He was elected Chairman of Cork County Council for the 1987-1988 year.
He was elected to the Dáil in 1981 for the Cork North-West constituency. He was re-elected at five further general elections until 1997.
He was a neighbour, a friend and was a great guiding hand to me over the last number of years. My thoughts are with his wife Winifred, his daughter Leah, son Ken, his grandchildren, family & friends at this very difficult time.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
