O’Shea Welcomes Intreo Work and Skills Job Fair in Macroom

Cork North West Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea has welcomed the announcement that a Job and Training Fair will take place in Macroom next week as part of the nationwide Intreo Work and Skills Week, and encouraged local jobseekers to attend.

The Macroom event takes place on Tuesday next, 13^th October, from 10am to 1pm at The Castle Hotel, Macroom. Attendees can meet employers who are hiring, explore training and apprenticeship options, and get advice on careers and skills. Employers will be recruiting across a range of sectors, including healthcare, hospitality and tourism, sales and marketing, customer service, food production and the public sector.

For those who can’t attend in person, an Online Employer Engagement Session will be held on Monday 12^th October, from 10.30am to 11.30am, giving jobseekers across multiple counties the chance to engage directly with employers from home.

The events are open to people at every stage of their career, whether they are entering the workforce for the first time, looking for a new role, considering a career change, returning to work or seeking to upskill.

Deputy O’Shea said “It’s great to see Macroom included in Work and Skills Week. Events like this bring employers and jobseekers together locally, and I’d encourage anyone looking for work, training or a new direction to call in on the day or take part in the online session”.
